Who is Phoenix Health Services
![]()
Phoenix Health Services is the result of what should have been a happy event. In 1997 Mr. Rojek fathered the birth of a little boy that very quickly turned into a tragedy. While the birth was full-term and produced a healthy boy, within 3 days he stopped nursing. Although an osteopathic doctor was consulted, the DO was not equipped to handle what developed over the course of the next 20 hours. Unbeknownst to the DO or the parents, the small child had a few seizures in the course of 24 hours. By the time he was admitted to ER, he was having a grand mall seizure. A name had not been chosen yet. While being admitted to ER, Mr. Rojek was asked for his son's name. To this he replied, "Phoenix".
It was the image of his son rising out his own ashes and being renewed/reborn as a healthy young boy that stuck in Mr. Rojek's mind. Just like the mythological Phoenix rising out of its ashes, the hope was for this little boy to one day be healthy without seizures and have a fully functioning life. 12 1/2 years later, Phoenix has lived up to his name. Although seizures are one of the most difficult neurological dysfunctions to heal, Phoenix has gone far beyond the initial prognosis surprising everyone. This experience imprinted itself into Mr. Rojek's daily life and clinical work.
Mark Rojek began an odyssey in 1970 that has guided him through the years to many varied healers and discoveries. Some of the more influential personages along the way have included Dick Gregory, comedian turned political activist; J. Tilden, son of Dr. J. R. Tilden who taught disease was the result of internal toxemia; Dr. John Christopher, Master herbalist from Provo, Utah; Dr. Allen J. Bell, a Canadian Chiropractor, Homeopath, Master herbalist, Naturopath and Master Acupuncturist, and Dr. Howard Loomis Jr. the leading expert in the clinical use of plant-based enzyme therapy.
Mr. Rojek began studying acupuncture in 1973 with Dr. Alan J. Bell in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. It was Dr. Bell who inspired him to pursue research and studies in alternative/complementary medicine, especially acupuncture and herbs.
Mr. Rojek received a B.S. from Eastern Michigan University. Throughout college he continued his research and studies of alternative medicine and applied them in his daily life. He moved to Europe in 1979 and lived in different countries before settling in London, England. There he studied and observed an assortment of alternative methods of healing. He studied Classical Homeopathy, with Dr. Johar at the Homeopathic Health Center. As of 1987, Dr. Johar is one of the consulting physicians to the British Royal Family. Mr. Rojek studied aromatherapy and massage therapy at the Arnould Taylor Institute. He was also part of an on-going group of health care professionals researching practical applications in Applied Kinesiology.
In 1983, he moved to Chicago, IL where he had a clinical nutrition practice. It was in 1986 he began his work in enzyme therapy. Since then he has consulted with many clients from all over the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
While living in Chicago, IL he formally studied Traditional Chinese Medicine including acupuncture and Chinese botanicals. In 1992 he traveled to Guangzhou, China where he interned at the International Training Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine in acupuncture. From 1998-1999 he continued training with Dr. Bell in acupuncture, homeopathy and Chinese medicine, driving to Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Bell passed away in October of 1999.
By combining the best of Oriental medicine with the advances in enzyme therapy and clinical nutrition, Mr. Rojek has joined together strategies offering safe, natural and highly effective ways to help the body heal itself.
